This painting explores the intersection of chance, process, and intention. It began with a completed canvas that was later removed, folded, and re-stretched – each stage introducing unpredictable elements that shaped its final form. The resulting marks, folds, and textures reflect a narrative of discovery, making the unexpected an essential part of the work.
This painting captures the impression of motion through pressure and repetition. The surface is marked by a series of dragged, pulsing lines – like frames of film slipping past a lens – each imprint recording a brief moment of contact and movement. The rhythm of these marks suggests a mechanical stutter or a flickering loop, where image and gesture repeat but never quite resolve.
